We understand measuring your body jewellery can sometimes be tricky! Follow our helpful size guide below to make sure you’re choosing the correct size for your ear and body jewellery, whether it’s hinge rings, barbells, or labrets!
Rings are measured by their internal diameter.
Labret posts & barbells are measured by their length in between the attachments.
Measure the thickness of the body part, then establish the length of the post you’ll need for the jewellery to fit. Refer to Flat Back Post Guide.
Our hinge ring diameters measure from 14mm to 4mm.
The gauge refers to the thickness of the jewellery. Different gauges are used for different piercings.
Suitable for:
Belly, industrial, tongue, nipple
Helix, forward helix, conch, tragus, anti-tragus, rook, daith, lip, vertical labret, septum, eyebrow
Lobe, helix, forward helix, nose, tragus, conch
Lobe, nose
Measure the thickness of the body part, then establish the length of the post you’ll need for the jewellery to fit.
For nose, ear and lip piercings, measure the internal ring diameter, then compare that to measuring from the pierced area to the desired fit e.g., loose or snug.
PLEASE NOTE: Both front and back of your piercing need to be measured in the same way.
PLEASE NOTE: For lip piercings, remember to measure the thickness of your lip, and from the highest point of your lip to your pierced area.
Please note: The way your skin sits over your belly button can affect how a belly bar fits. For some body types where the skin hangs over the belly button, standard measurements from the top of the piercing to the bottom may not provide a snug fit. In these cases, we recommend a hinge ring for a more comfortable and flattering look. Shop our hinge ring jewellery here.
2. Please note our barbells come in a variety of lengths and choices of either a 6mm or 8mm gemmed or plain ball, in a variety of metal types.
3. Please refer to our Gauge (Thickness) Guide to learn more about which jewellery thickness to choose.
Generally, 14G jewellery is suitable for the belly; however, if you’ve left your piercing out for a long period of time, the piercing hole may have shrunk so a smaller gauge (18G or 20G) may be suitable. You can find these in our hinge ring & banana barbell categories. If you want a more individualised look, you can add a charm!
